Epilogue For The Week

A fucked up week
Glad that I am alive here
Practically I have both good and bad news
But the bad ones dominate over the bright ones
But who really cares?
-
Someone came to challenge my patience
Ended up with a burst of volcano
Making both sides to bleed
I knew this day will come
Although everything is over now
But I am not that narrow minded to block you
From any digital or cyber means
Like how you blocked me from your Facebook
You are just a coward
-
Someone keeps on airing tonnes of stories
Into my ears!
At first I was still okay
But I am getting irritated
Some more
I nearly die in a car bang two days ago
Your cursing and swearing failed epicly
That's why I am still here updating my blog
-
If the ranking on the D list is true
Then so yeah
I am the first for last semester
The only thing that could really cheer me a little up
-
I am getting busier with the ceremony
Practically I need to work with everyone to keep it moving
I am not directly involved in the performance
But I am indirectly involved in the overall programme flow
Don't be surprise when you heard my voice on the actual day
I am somehow been appointed for something different

Insanely Happy

I have strong affection towards denim recently
That is why I get sensitive to Levi's
That is not the point
I have discovered that
People from Kajang (Semenyih) are close to me
We share the nearly same fashion sense
And we do share thoughts
I heart you
Andrew and JJ
-
P/S: I don't blame you. But I just want to talk to you.
I know I failed for the biggest one. But I will not fail the most important one.

Chill . Passionate . Exhausted

Weather shows no mercy this week
It is 24 degree C
But I swear the actual temperature must be lower
As the cold breeze hitting on your body is piercingly cold
It is not like Kuching where there is only rains and water
Humid and wet
But Singapore is freezing cold!
I am now on long track pants
A shirt and jacket
But my fingers are numbed as they are now dancing across the keyboards
-
Went back from camp yesterday
It was NEXUS camp
pretty cool name right?
Basically it was just like KHSRC Camp
But a light version one
Games were really fun
But we are free from discipline
Bathe as long as you like
Sleep as late as you want
Basically, it was like a combination of games in school
But one of the rules is that you gonna sleep in school
-
Back from camp
Truly exhausted
DPE impact sent me a friend request on facebook
I was like over the moon
They accepted my proposal to create DPE facebook page
=D =D =D
Actually I was invited to join their committees' meeting
But Shuning told me not to do so
As it might arise conflicts among year 1s
Being wise I know what to do
-
By luck or by fate
I was chosen to become the so called "model"
To promote DPE this year

This is one of the photos we took
from left : (front) Rachel Ho (my classmate, Singaporean), Jerry Goh (Malaysian, Johore)
from left (standing) : Yee Chen (Malaysian, Johore), Isaac Yong (Malaysian, Sabah), me
Out of 4 of 5 are Malaysians
See how much Malaysians are there in Singapore to make up their population
Malaysia BN
If corruption continues
You will outsource more talents!
-
When I was taking a nap on windy Sunday afternoon
Ye Chao (President of DPE impact) called
I was awoke by the Marimba ringtone
Answered the call
"Tan Yee, I need you to write a 100 words on DPE..."
I was like so blur and everything he said I replied "yes"
When I really woke up at 8pm plus
I texted him to confirm what is the passage really about
I wrote it using iPhone this morning when I was inside the bus
He said I have a formal command of english
But he needs a casual one
So I am now trying to work on it again
-
And now
I do gain some fame among DPEs
Joined major events
Have connections among some important people
Know some friends from each class
It is about to showcase where am I supposed to be
To resume my hassle secondary school lifestyle
It is hectic but I do miss it!

太多人,越多事

好不容易捱过了考试
成绩放榜了
Electronic拿了A, Calculus拿了B,Computer拿了A,而且是100!

The Most Costly Presentation Ever

"Communication Skills"
You turn me into a real madness!
Miss Sakun was asking us to present a formal presentation on the topic
"If you rule Singapore, what policy will you implement?"
What the hell on this earth that we foreign students are only here for two months
What do you expect us to comment about Singapore?
Further more, to me
Singapore is already very perfect
Even if I rule this country, the only thing is to keep up with the
Current efficiency of the government
And there is actually not much room of improvement
Madness
So I come out with a policy
"Turning Singapore into a Solar Energy Country"
After setting this title
Another thing that keeps me frustrated
Is the formal wear
Since this is a formal presentation
We need formal wear
>_<
I have to shop again to fulfill the dress code requirement
So finally I decided to go to AMK Hub
Where I will grab a piece or two of formal wear in G2000
Lolz
Pair of formal black pants(resemble of the prefect's uniform)
Two formal long sleeves
I hope I am just formal enough
WTF
From left: $39, $59, $69
Total after discount $136.90
I have never spend such a huge amount on buying formal wear man
And then
I have to get a pair of formal shoes
I grabbed a crocodile one
$59.90 after 50%
Kill me
Shopping is expensive during non-sale season
-
Ok now
My piece of advise
For those who are going elsewhere to study
Remember to bring one set of formal wear with you
It will be useful
For the sake of your convenience
And also to prevent you from burning a hole in your pocket

Grey Is The Leader

Vogue has announced it's 2010 spring/summer fashion
It can be concluded that the trend is
GREY
Trend leaders like
GUCCI, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani,
Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Moschino Cheap & Chip
are injecting GREY into all of their major designs
Get some GREY matching
Dressed up in a proper way
So that you don't make yourself get weed out of the fashion

It is still. The Time

Few days since I made my last post
Things are going on normally
I mean nothing special happened for the past days
Anyway I made my first visit to Blackcat's native homeland
"Siburan"
Initially I thought it will be undeveloped and full of uncivilisation culture
The truth is totally different from my imagination
Equipped with a modern-look indoor food court
Filling up with famous franchise like Sugar Bun, Everise and so on
I heard that KFC is opening soon as well
What actually made me eye-opening was a store named
"KK Store"
Holy shit
It is even more up-to-date than the fashion trend in Kuching
And the fashion is even more branded and luxury than Petaling Street in KL
You can get any brand of what you could think of
Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Crocs, Nike, Adidas,
Levi's, Paul Smith, Polo, Camel Active, and many more
(They are all imitates)
In fact it is good for teens like us to shop
But in a long run
The rampant pirating culture will bring down the name of Malaysia
The only difference when we get ourselves compare to other country is
Our government never care for this absurd scenario
We are still being so proud of our "SATU MALAYSIA"

iPad

Introducing the whole new release of Apple in the keynote address January 2010
iPad

Safari
The large Multi-Touch screen on iPad lets you see web pages as they were meant to be seen — one page at a time. With vibrant color and sharp text. So whether you’re looking at a page in portrait or landscape, you can see everything at a size that’s actually readable. And with iPad, navigating the web has never been easier or more intuitive. Because you use the most natural pointing device there is: your finger. Scroll through a page just by flicking your finger up or down on the screen. Or pinch to zoom in or out on a photo. There’s also a thumbnail view that shows all your open pages in a grid, to let you quickly move from one page to the next.
-
Photos
With its crisp, vibrant display and unique software features, iPad is an extraordinary way to enjoy and share your photos. For example, the Photos app displays the photos in an album as though they were in a stack. Just tap the stack, and the whole album opens up. From there, you can flip through your pictures, zoom in or out, or watch a slideshow. You can even use your iPad as a beautiful digital photo frame while it’s is docked or charging. And there are lots of ways to import photos: You can sync them from your computer, download them from an email, or import them directly from your camera using the optional Camera Connection Kit.
Video
The large, high-resolution screen makes iPad perfect for watching any kind of video: from HD movies and TV shows to podcasts and music videos. Switch between widescreen and full screen with a double-tap. Because iPad is essentially one big screen, with no distracting keypad or buttons, you feel completely immersed in whatever you’re watching.
App Store
iPad runs almost 140,000 apps from the App Store. Everything from games to business apps and more. And new apps designed specially for iPad are highlighted, so you can easily find the ones that take full advantage of its features. Just tap the App Store icon on the screen to browse, buy, and download apps wirelessly, right to the iPad.
iPod
With the iPod app, all your music is literally at your fingertips. Browse by album, song, artist, or genre with a simple flick. To play a song, just tap it. iPad even displays album art at full size. Listen to your music with the powerful built-in speaker or with wired or Bluetooth wireless headphones.

Maps
See more of the world with high-resolution satellite and street view images. Even see topography with the new terrain view. You can also search for a nearby business type (“Restaurant,” for example), then tap the business to see the route and directions from your current location.
Notes
With its expansive display and large, onscreen keyboard, iPad makes jotting down notes easy. In landscape view, you see not only a note-taking page but a list of all your notes. iPad even circles the current note in red, so you can see where you are at a glance.
iBooks
The iBooks app is a great new way to read and buy books.* Download the free app from the App Store and buy everything from classics to best sellers from the built-in iBookstore. Once you’ve bought a book, it’s displayed on your Bookshelf. Just tap it to start reading. The high-resolution, LED-backlit screen displays everything in sharp, rich color, so it’s easy to read, even in low light.

An Effete Empire of Dubai

To be frank, I was shocked by a sudden when I flipped through the newspaper yesterday. The headline gave me a heavy knock and I kept on asking myself what the hell is this?
-
Dubai is currently suffering from it's serious economy down fall. How could this happen? I am still so impressed by Dubai's bold policies to build up many skyscrapers that open the eyes of the world and I could not believe that this may come one day. It is just like a doomsday. The chain effects is severe and it hits the world's economy abruptly.
-
What to do? I just went to the New Yorks Time and most of the pages are coloured with the related news to the economy down fall of Dubai. There is no word to express the sadness and despair that I am feeling right now. The legend of the fast growing economy of Dubai has entered a sinister period and I hope the story does not end here. The "bubblenisation" of the glory of Dubai in the book "Dubai: The Vulnerability of Success" is reflecting a real statement now. The crisis is likely to have long-lasting effects on the seven-member emirates federation, where Dubai has long played rebellious younger brother to oil-rich and more conservative Abu Dhabi. Dubai officials, swallowing their pride, have made clear that they would be open to a bailout, but so far Abu Dhabi has offered assistance only to its own banks.
-
I am just keeping my fingers crossed and I hope Abu Dhabi will quickly lend a hand to put an end to all of these. Dubai is still one of my dream city and I hope that I still have the chance to pay a visit to Dubai in the coming days. There is no way that Dubai cannot overcome the crisis.
-
Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai looks like a boat sailing the ocean.
Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai is the ONLY 7-star luxury hotel in the entire world.
Rooms are priced accordingly -- from $1,361 to $10,073 a night (as of Jan, 06)!
The entire building had used about 23 tan of gold for its construction.
-

The Palm Islands, also referred to as The Palm Dubai and The Palms, are the world's three largest man-made islands, which are being built on the coast of the emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The project is being handled by Al Nakheel Properties (Nakheel Corporation), which will increase Dubai's shoreline by 120km (72 miles) and create a large number of residential, leisure, and entertainment areas.
The idea was first announced in May 2002 and the two manmade freehold artificial palm tree-shaped resort islands are expected to maintain Dubai's position as a premium tourist destination. The Palm Islands has also been named 'The Eighth Wonder of the World'.
-
This is not a BMW showroom. This is a police station in Dubai.
Yes, Dubai police use BMW sedan as their police car.
-

Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world with a height of 818m.

The total budget for the Burj Dubai project is about US$4.1 billion, and for the entire new "Downtown Dubai", US$20 billion.

How tall Petronas Twin Towers is when compare to Burj Dubai?

Australia Wildfire

SYDNEY, Australia — The toll from Australia’s wildfires could exceed 200 dead, a top official said Tuesday, as investigators warned it will take months to identify the bodies and determine whether arsonists were responsible for the worst blaze which killed scores of people.

Police have so far confirmed 181 deaths as the fires ripped across the southern state of Victoria on Saturday. But the state’s premier, John Brumby, said more than 50 people remained missing Tuesday afternoon.

“These are people who the coroner believes are already deceased but are not yet identified,” Mr. Brumby said. “So this is going to be a significant number, it will exceed 200 deaths.”
Officials declared crime scenes across huge tracts of land where dozens of victims died in their cars or huddled in their houses during the worst wildfires in Australian history.
The Victorian state police commissioner, Christine Nixon, told a local radio station on Tuesday that one of the fires, which killed at least 21 people in the eastern region of Gippsland, was deliberately set, and police “believe there may be more.”

Asked whether police had any suspects, she said, “We certainly do in some cases.”
Police said it was still unclear whether arsonists were responsible for the deadliest blaze, a 60-mile-long fire front that killed at least 147 people and decimated several hillside towns northeast of Melbourne.

Officials set up a task force to examine how many of the fires were lit by arsonists, who could face murder charges if arrested. Dannye Moloney, who is heading the force, said the team of 100 top investigators would also try to determine the circumstances of each death, but he warned the process could take months.

“We have people that left their homes, drove, got trapped, left their vehicles; pedestrians were picked up by other motorists trying to escape this tragedy and were killed in cars,” Mr. Moloney said in Melbourne. “We must pin all this together.”

Stephen Cordner, the head of the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, who is helping with the investigation, said the heat of the fires incinerated some victims so thoroughly that identifying their bodies would be impossible.

State and federal officials began trying to find shelter for hundreds of people left homeless in the disaster. More than 900 houses were destroyed and some 7,000 people have appealed for assistance from the Australian Red Cross, local media reported.

A special agency has been set up to oversee the reconstruction of several towns and villages razed in Saturday’s fires, and Mr. Brumby said building would begin within weeks.

Officials have come under criticism for failing to notify residents of the danger or evacuate towns facing high fire risk on Saturday. Australian fire authorities rarely order mass evacuations but advise people to establish a fire plan that involves either leaving early or staying to defend their homes with hoses, pumps and generators.

Many of those who survived the most devastating fires said there was no time for an orderly evacuation and witnesses said several people died while sheltering in homes that collapsed in a matter of minutes.

Mr. Brumby has called for a royal commission, the highest level of government inquiry, to review the state’s response to the fires. One question will be whether officials should have greater power to force residents to leave their homes in times of high fire danger.
The premier and fire officials defended the existing approach, saying no one could have predicted the ferocity of Saturday’s fires. However, Victoria’s main fire authority updated its safety warnings to clarify that “leaving early means going to safe places on all days when there is a fire risk.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of exhausted firefighters continued to battle two dozen wildfires still burning out of control on Tuesday.Army reservists were deployed to the region to help dig containment lines around the fires and clear charred trees from the roads. Conditions were much cooler than the 116 degree temperatures recorded Saturday, but officials warned the weather could heat up again early next week.

from the New York's Time

This is a sad tragedy to all the nations of Australia. I would like to express my deepest condolence to all the the victims suffering from this wildfire. I have been praying hard for all of you.

Dear Lord,
may we lend your sanctity hand
together we go beyond this hard time
and not to fear with it
In Jesus name
Ah Men

Please get well soon, Steve Jobs

Apple® logo Steve Jobs
Today I saw on the newspaper saying that Steve Jobs is going to withdraw himself from Apple Cooperation and rest until June. I was shocked at the first sight I read this news. But I hope that you will get well soon as I would like to see more out of the box stuff from Apple as I love Apple so much. Last year you announced iPhone 3G and nano chromatic. This year I would like to see more cool stuff in your coming keynote. Apple Cooperation will not be able to survive without your operation. So, take care and get well soon. I will pray for you.
